Black Ops Series
The paintings in this series feature black as a color and a value, in concert with an unconventional usage of gesso and other materials. I poured or spread gesso with pallet knives, putty knives, trowels, brushes, or paint spreaders. The final results are pieces that are heavily textured, have depth, and play with positive and negative space.
